Top 5 Wednesday: Books With Multiple POVs

Hey!!!

This week’s topic for top 5 Wednesday is books with multiple POVs (preferably more than 2). While it took me a while at first I quickly discovered 5 books/series with some pretty awesome multiple POVs which I’m super excited to share with you. So let’s begin!!!!

5. The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancy

What really stood out about the multiple points of view in this book/series is that there were often times where I had no idea whose point of view I was reading from, especially in the first book. While this can be annoying after a while I finally figured out who I was reading about and then the whole story seemed to click into place. I think that this also encouraged me to keep reading since I had no idea what was going on and wanted to find out ASAP. In the second book though, I really started to get to know the characters and was really happy that I got to read from more than one point of view. It was also cool later on in the series where there would be multiple things happening to the different characters that you were able to read separately about. If you still haven’t read this series, please do! It will blow your mind, trust me!!!

4. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

What I really loved about the multiple POVs in this book were how they allowed the story to be told fluidly without having to wait for the next chapter before changing POVs and hearing from a different character. As the series continued, especially in Cress, we hear from even a bigger bunch of characters which I liked even more. I’m so excited for Winter where there will most likely be 50 POVs 😛 What I really liked about this series was that there was never a point of view that I didn’t want to read from, which can often happen in multiple POV books. But all the characters in this series were totally interesting and fun to read from. I am seriously counting down the days till Winter and cannot wait to finally have it in my hands in November!

3. Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan

While I will forever miss Percy’s sassy and witty point of view having multiple point of views from all the characters is probably that next best thing. For the most part, I enjoyed reading from all of the character’s points of view and really liked how the characters would each explain all the mini quests they would go on throughout the book. The only issue I had was that there were often times, especially during the first couple of books, where I really wanted to skip certain character’s POVs. As the series progressed though I found myself loving each and every one of the characters and was more than ready to read their point of views. I only wish there were POVs from all the characters in the series except just a certain few. Nevertheless they were all super fun to read but Leo and Percy’s POVs will always be my favourite. 😉

2. We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach

I feel like this book is in all of my top 5 Wednesday posts, but oh well… To be completely honest when I started this book I really only liked one of the characters point of view. Though as the story progressed I quickly found myself excited to read any character’s POV whenever theirs came up. I think having multiple POV’s was the best way to tell this story and I doubt I would have liked this book as much any other way. If only all multiple POV books could be like this one. 😥

1. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

I’m sure we all know of my obsession with Cassandra Clare books so I don’t really need to say much here. Basically I loved absolutely all the characters from this series and would gladly read from any of their point of views for the rest of my life. Switching multiple points of view in the series was a great way to cover all of the events that occur often at the same time through different character’s POV’s. While reading the series I never found myself wishing I was reading another pint of view which is very rare. Overall this series is amazing and all the POV’s were amazing and just go read it already!!!!
